Saturday Jan 6 Update
Carol Catalano
Welcome to the weekend, skiers! We’ve got plenty of snow on the ground and a bright sun overhead! ❄️☀️❄️☀️
North Shore Nordic has been been grooming into the night Friday, however the wind has been fighting back hard in large, open fields. Despite our efforts, some fields have waves of drifting snow mid-field and deeper drifts at the leeward sides. Very dramatic to see in person. The wooded trails are beautiful.
The following trail areas have been skate groomed with roller, with some surfaced with corduroy. Some have set tracks - there is lots of good skiing to be had.
- Appleton Farms: Lamson Field
- Appleton Farms: Grassrides Trails
- Pingree School Loop (blowing snow)
- Harvard Forest- Pingree Woodlands
- Bradley Palmer- Asbury Loop
Be sure to check back for additional updates.
Reportedly, the Dairy Store at Appleton Farms is offering free hot chocolate - a wonderful reward from The Trustees! 👏👏👏. Note that winds have scoured the snow from our typical trail to the Dairy Store, and skiing from the Dairy lot may not be practical.
Hope to see you out on the trails and remember to support North Shore Nordic with a donation!
